Step into a world of timeless elegance at Priory Wareham, a historic country house hotel nestled in the heart of Wareham, Dorset. Originally purchased at an auction in 1976, the family-run haven has been lovingly nurtured for over 40 years, offering a unique blend of historical charm and modern comfort.
It all began with a chance encounter. The family attended a local auction with the intention of purchasing a few antique furnishings. Little did they know that they would leave as the proud owners of Priory Wareham, a magnificent country house steeped in history. With a passion for preserving its heritage and a vision for creating a truly special guest experience, they embarked on a journey to transform the hotel into the cherished destination it is today. Over the years, the family has carefully expanded and enhanced the property, adding The Garden Room restaurant and Cloisters Bar, while always staying true to its original character and charm.
Immerse yourself in the grandeur of a bygone era, complemented by contemporary luxuries. Wander through our lush gardens, where vibrant roses climb ancient walls, lavender scents the air, and hidden pathways lead to tranquil corners. Find a quiet spot to read beneath the shade of ancient trees, or simply soak up the sunshine on the manicured lawns. In spring, the gardens come alive with a symphony of colour, while autumn brings a tapestry of golden hues. No matter the season, our gardens offer a tranquil escape from the everyday.
