Our 3-night Christmas Itinerary

Christmas Eve - Arrive at your leisure and settle into your bedroom or suite. Depending on your arrival time, indulge in a leisurely lunch or relax by the fire in the Drawing Room with afternoon tea, served from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Dinner marks the first of our specially curated Christmas menus, served between 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Before dinner, you are warmly invited to a Champagne Reception from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., hosted in the festively adorned Drawing Room. Our resident pianist will provide a gentle soundtrack to the traditional ambiance throughout the evening. Following dinner, enjoy Coffee and Petits Fours, and you may wish to attend Midnight Communion at the Lady St. Mary Church, adjacent to the hotel.

Christmas Day - “Merry Christmas!” Begin your day with a hearty traditional English breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., or opt for a lighter continental breakfast. The day is yours to explore the enchanting Dorset countryside, rich in connections to Thomas Hardy and Lawrence of Arabia. We are happy to provide information to guide you, and with prior notice, we can prepare a delightful picnic for your adventure. Dinner is served from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., commencing with pre-dinner drinks and canapés in the Drawing Room and Cloisters Bar, as you contemplate the second and most festive of our special Christmas menus. “Bon Appétit.”

Boxing Day - After the indulgences of the previous day, breakfast will be served from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. There’s no need to rush today. A leisurely walk in the grounds or a stroll around Wareham is highly recommended to build your appetite for lunch. You may choose to return to the hotel for a delightful meal or venture to one of the area’s charming local pubs for a traditional pub lunch. Later in the afternoon, treat yourself to a delectable Dorset Cream Tea (4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.) at the hotel or during your outing. Dinner, the third offering from our selection of special Christmas menus, will be served from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., preceded by pre-dinner drinks and canapés in the drawing room and Cloisters Bar, accompanied by the gentle melodies of our resident pianist.

27 December - Take your time to linger over breakfast, served from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., as your luxurious bedroom or suite need not be vacated until 11:00 a.m. Enjoy a final stroll around the gardens, or extend your stay for lunch or a light snack before your journey home.
