You are warmly invited to join us between 7:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., where our esteemed Restaurant Manager and his expert team will guide you through an unforgettable evening, culminating in a traditional toast to welcome the New Year at midnight.

Before the celebrations begin, enjoy pre-dinner drinks and exquisite canapés in the elegant Drawing Room and Cloisters Bar, accompanied by the delightful melodies of our resident pianist, Julie Lewis, performing a mix of jazz and classical favourites. At 8:00 p.m., you’ll be seated to indulge in our decadent 5-Course Gala Dinner, crafted to perfection by Head Chef Stephan Guinebault and his talented team. Throughout the evening, expect to be enchanted by captivating, close-up table magic for an extra touch of wonder.

New Year Itinerary for 30th – 2nd

30th December

Upon your arrival today, after settling into your room or suite, you may wish to enjoy a leisurely lunch or unwind by the fire in the Drawing Room with afternoon tea, served from 3:30 p.m. Our afternoon tea menu features an array of indulgent delights, including Tea with Apple Cake, a traditional ‘Dorset Cream Tea’ with homemade scones, jam, and clotted cream, or The Priory’s signature ‘Ritzy Tea,’ accompanied by scones, cakes, and pastries. Dinner is served between 7:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., beginning with pre-dinner drinks and a selection of freshly prepared canapés in the Drawing Room and Cloisters Bar.

New Year’s Eve

For those who joined us yesterday, start your day with a relaxing experience by indulging in The Priory’s traditional breakfast menu, available from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Delight in specialties such as Smoked Salmon with Scrambled Eggs and Grilled Kippers. Whether you’re a new arrival or a resident guest, make sure to save room for the evening’s indulgent festivities. Our esteemed Restaurant Manager and his expert team will guide you through a captivating evening that culminates in a midnight toast to the New Year with a complimentary glass of Champagne. Before the celebrations commence, enjoy your choice of pre-dinner drinks alongside delectable canapés served in the Drawing Room and Cloisters Bar. Then, savour a sumptuous, candlelit ‘Tasting Menu’ paired with Coffee and Petits Fours, while being entertained by enchanting, up-close table magic. “Bon Appétit” and “Happy New Year”!

New Year’s Day

The morning after the night before! Today is the perfect opportunity to indulge in a continental breakfast in the comfort of your room. Regardless of your breakfast preferences, this is a day meant for rest and relaxation—and perhaps a breath of fresh air! We highly recommend a leisurely stroll through our beautiful grounds or a charming walk around Wareham. You may wish to explore one of the local public houses for a traditional pub lunch (reservations may be required). Dinner is served between 7:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., beginning with pre-dinner drinks and freshly made canapés in the Drawing Room and Cloisters Bar.

2nd January

There is plenty of time to linger over breakfast this morning (7.30 a.m. until 9.30 a.m.), as bedrooms and suites need not be vacated until 12 noon. Bearing this in mind, you may wish to take a last stroll around the gardens, or even stay a while longer for some lunch or a light snack before returning home. Until next year then? “We wish you a safe journey home and a healthy and prosperous new year.”

2024 New Year Tariff 30th – 2nd

Rooms are available for a minimum of 2 nights over the New Year period, either 30th and 31st, or 31st and 1st. Room rates are for a 2 nights’ stay (total for 2 persons) and include Accommodation, Table D’Hote Dinner (4-Course Menu on New Year’s Eve followed by a Champagne ‘toast’ at midnight), Full English Breakfast, and V.A.T. For guests wishing to stay longer, our normal room rates apply.

Single Occupancy/Children

25% reduction for single occupancy is applied to the total cost of the room. Children over 14 years welcome (adult rates apply). We are a guide dogs only hotel.

Deposit

A non-refundable deposit of £200.00 is required to secure every room reservation made for the Christmas period, together with a written letter of confirmation.

Cancellation Charges

In instances where the hotel is unable to re-let accommodation that is cancelled during the following months, a percentage of the total room tariff will be charged accordingly – October 50%, November 75%, and December 100%. We therefore strongly recommend the use of U.K. holiday insurance.
