Mouth-Watering Midas: Discover the Perfect Prosecco Pairings at The Priory

An Introduction to Midas Prosecco

Born in Bournemouth and crafted in the heart of Friuli, Italy, Midas Prosecco combines generations of winemaking tradition with cutting-edge technology to deliver an exceptional sparkling wine experience.

The journey began in the summer of 2018, inspired by a simple realisation: Even the most dedicated Prosecco drinkers struggled to recall a single brand by name. Thus, Midas was created—a Prosecco synonymous with quality, consistency, and a taste unlike any other.

Midas Prosecco is made from 100% carefully selected Glera grapes, ensuring a refined and distinctive flavour. The extended secondary fermentation process lasts up to 120 days—up to eight times longer than the average—resulting in finer bubbles, a more rounded flavour, and a crisp, fruity finish. This meticulous process enhances natural antioxidants, reducing the need for sulphites and artificial sugars.

Sustainability is at the heart of Midas. Produced with a net-zero carbon footprint, every bottle originates from a single estate vineyard, ensuring unparalleled quality control. The vineyard operates on 90% solar power, while recyclable materials and vineyard trimmings are repurposed to support the local ecosystem. Midas Prosecco is also vegan, gluten-free, and low in calories.

The Tale of King Midas

Inspired by the legendary King Midas, the brand embodies a timeless lesson: True wealth lies not in gold but in love, shared experiences, and unforgettable moments. Each bottle is adorned with golden fingerprints representing the co-founders’ thumbprints—a signature of quality and craftsmanship.

Midas Prosecco: White & Rosé

Midas Prosecco Extra Dry

The flagship Midas Prosecco Extra Dry is fresh, floral, and effortlessly drinkable. Its balanced flavour makes it an ideal pairing for creamy pasta dishes and fresh seafood, enhancing every bite with a touch of elegance.

Midas Prosecco Rosé Extra Brut

For those who prefer a drier, fruit-forward profile, Midas Prosecco Rosé Extra Brut offers red berry and currant notes with a low residual sugar content. Since the introduction of Prosecco Rosé in 2020, Midas has redefined expectations with its extended fermentation and exceptional quality. Perfect for pairing with elaborate first courses, fruity desserts, or cheese boards, it provides a Champagne-like dryness with a modern Italian twist.

Perfect Midas Pairings at The Priory

Midas Prosecco elevates an already exquisite dining experience. Whether you’re indulging in a leisurely Afternoon Tea or a refined evening meal, these expertly crafted Proseccos bring out the best in every dish.

Afternoon Tea & Midas Prosecco

A traditional Cream Tea is made even more delightful with a glass of Midas Prosecco Rosé, which perfectly complements the strawberry jam and clotted cream on warm scones. For those enjoying the ‘Ritzy’ Tea, featuring seafood or artisanal cheeses, Midas Prosecco White enhances the freshness and balance of the flavours.

Seafood & Midas Prosecco

For a truly luxurious experience, pair Midas Prosecco with the finest seafood from The Priory’s menu. Whether enjoying Kimmeridge Lobster, Dover Sole, or a classic Portland Crab Cocktail, the floral and crisp notes of Midas Prosecco White beautifully enhance the garlic butter or beurre blanc sauces, elevating the dish’s delicate flavours.

For a lighter yet equally indulgent pairing, Shetland Scallops provide a sweet contrast to Midas’ refined acidity, creating a harmony of taste and texture.

Desserts & Midas Prosecco Rosé

End your meal on a high note with a fruity dessert and Midas Prosecco Rosé. The Iced Nougat Parfait, finished with raspberry coulis, mirrors the red currant notes of the Rosé for a perfect balance of sweet and dry. If the Crème Brûlée of the Day features red fruit flavours, it pairs beautifully with the Extra Brut finish, offering a sophisticated and refreshing finale.
